Job Summary

We are seeking a HR Manager for a leading Publishing House.
Job Profile:
To build and lead a structured HR function that translates leadership vision into execution, while ensuring strong processes across performance, hiring, compliance, and employee management.
Build HR systems and processes from the ground up
Align teams with leadership vision
Drive accountability, performance, and discipline
Leadership Alignment & Communication
Act as a bridge between CEO/leadership and employees
Translate leadership vision into actionable HR processes
Handle sensitive and difficult conversations with maturity and professionalism
HR Department Setup & Ownership
Build and structure the HR function from scratch
Design SOPs across the employee lifecycle
Establish clear systems for hiring, performance, and management
Performance Management
Implement and manage performance tracking systems
Drive goal-setting, reviews, and accountability frameworks
Ensure alignment of individual performance with business objectives
HR Tools & Systems
Implement and manage:
Attendance & leave tracking systems
Performance management tools
Ensure adoption and discipline across teams
Policy & Compliance
Design, implement, and enforce HR policies
Ensure all labour law and statutory compliances are met, including:
EPF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Gratuity, Bonus
State labour law compliances and documentation
Maintain compliance records and ensure audit readiness
Rewards & Recognition
Build structured reward and recognition programs
Drive performance-linked incentives and recognition frameworks
Talent Acquisition
Lead hiring across functions
Build structured recruitment and evaluation processes
Partner with leadership to identify and onboard strong talent
HR Budgeting
Prepare and manage HR-related budgets
Plan and allocate resources effectively across hiring and HR initiatives
Audit & Governance
Handle internal and statutory audits related to HR
Ensure documentation, processes, and records are audit-compliant
Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely closure of observations
HR Manager Requirements:
5–10 years of experience in HR roles
Must have HR Leadership experience
Experience in building or scaling HR functions
Exposure to performance management, compliance, audits, and budgeting
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Strong stakeholder management across all levels
