Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a global medical tech solutions provider.

Job Profile:

The Mechanical Engineer will be a part of the R&D team
Actively participate in following product development activities – Concept design, design planning, design development & execution stages of new products.
Analyze, interpret and establish design requirements based on marketing inputs & available technical data.
Collaborate with cross functional teams including Industrial design, Electrical, Marketing and purchasing teams.
Research design options and perform experiments to determine potential design feasibility.
Prepare clear, concise and accurate conceptual/design models & drawings, defining tolerances, fits, clearances & space requirements
Conduct & actively participate in Design reviews.
Interact with global design and manufacturing teams to design for manufacturability, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Create DFMEA, Simulations, Tolerance analysis, design calculations to ensure First time right designs
Prototyping of designs.
Design Verification-Part & mechanical system level verification.
Production documentation support.
Pre-production, Pilot and Production support.
Ensure all mechanical engineering activities are executed as per the development procedure.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or Product design (Mechanical) with 2 to 4 years working experience in a Product Design and Development environment.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCY:
Must have hands on in electro-mechanical product design along with sheet metal & plastic injection moulding.
Experience in design of Electro-Mechanical products (Ex: Medical devices, Consumer appliances)
Able to work independently & experience with working in cross functional teams.
Experience in working in designs for various manufacturing technologies including plastic injection molding, silicones, precision machining & sheet metal.
Experience in selection of materials & various finishing processes.
Design calculation and optimization for component & system level, strong foundation and working knowledge in GD & T & stack up analysis.
Exposure to working with HW teams for ECD-MCAD convergence & design for electrical safety.
Exposure to solving thermal management within the device.
Experience with rapid prototype and different prototyping techniques for building proof of concept and Functional prototype for testing.
Good analytical skills in problem solving, identifying the technical risks and mitigating them systematically.
Hands on Experience with CAD software’s like Solid works with exposure to surface modelling, skeleton model/Master model concept.

Medical devices product development experience will be an added advantage.
Experience with Medical Device Directive (MDD), ISO 13485, Design controls or similar regulatory environment and QMS will be an added advantage.
