We are looking for a Manager Projects for Oil & Gas

  • Job Profile:
  • Provide strong and decisive project leadership (Brownfield/Greenfield) throughout project life cycle till product validation/commercial trials within the specific Schedule & Budgets
  • Management of Consultants, Vendors and Construction Contractors to ensure smooth execution of Project.
  • Ensure legal / regulatory compliance & functional requirements by efficient planning and management.
  • Develop and manage detailed project feasibility studies, business case approvals, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and start-up of operations in line with approved project schedules, client requirements, and industry standards.
  • Lead the preparation of strategic project packages and documentation, ensuring all proposals are aligned with the organization’s long-term objectives and are submitted for approval by the CMD.
  • Ensure effective project execution through proper resource management, risk mitigation, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multidisciplinary detail engineering activities, including Front End Engineering Design (FEED) processes and techno-commercial integration.
  • Oversee Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts to ensure alignment with the client’s approved Basis of Design (BOD), regulatory standards, and industry codes.
  • Define and implement robust project review mechanisms, regularly conducting technical reviews and escalating issues to appropriate levels when risks arise.
  • Coordinate the preparation of technical and commercial bid evaluations, participate in tender negotiations, and assist in securing management approvals.
  • Lead negotiations with vendors and contractors for a variety of engineering and procurement packages, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable terms for the organization.
  • Review vendor contracts and manage the tendering process from bid evaluation to final approval, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
  • Prepare and present detailed strategic notes and packages for CMD approval, covering project execution plans, vendor selection, and engineering package recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, manage ongoing cost tracking, and develop project-specific cost management reports.
  • Monitor project budgets and control expenditures, ensuring all financial aspects conform to the project’s objectives and forecasts.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of project progress, key statistics, and performance metrics for monthly management reviews.
  • Lead and mentor project teams across disciplines, ensuring optimal manpower allocation, skill development, and performance management.
  • Conduct weekly coordination meetings with lead engineers, and present project key performance indicators (KPIs) in monthly reviews.
  • Facilitate open communication across project teams, clients, and vendors, ensuring seamless project execution and quick resolution of engineering queries.
  • Ensure all project activities conform to the client’s approved Basis of Design and meet all applicable regulatory and code requirements, including local, national, and international standards.
  • Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) with the client and licensors to ensure compliance with safety standards before plant start-up.
  • Assist the Field Engineering Manager in resolving site-specific technical issues and ensuring compliance through Field Change Notices (FCNs) and Site Instructions (SIs).
  • Manage additional material requirements due to engineering changes, issuing Material Purchase Requisitions (MPR) and Local Purchase Orders (LPO) as needed.
  • Provide leadership in material control, procurement, and field coordination to ensure project continuity and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of land for new project developments, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with strategic project goals.
  • Coordinate with legal and governmental agencies to ensure the smooth acquisition and transfer of land ownership.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality PowerPoint presentations to senior management and external stakeholders, summarizing project progress, financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Present key project statistics, engineering metrics, and strategic updates during monthly and quarterly management reviews.
  • Undertake extensive travel to project sites, vendor facilities, and client meetings as required to oversee project execution and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain a hands-on approach to project supervision, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
  • 6+ years of experience in project management within the EPC or engineering sector, preferably in large industrial projects such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, or infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and large-scale engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera) and cost management systems (SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, safety protocols, and engineering standards.
