We are looking for a Chartering Executive for a well established shipping startup having offices in Mumbai, Singapore and Dubai. This is a number oriented role and hence we are seeking CAs with a strong business acumen. The CA will be trained to independently manage international chartering operations.
Job Profile:
To be responsible for all the activities associated with the chartering of vessels and management of contract cargoes as well as all necessary liaison with post fixture operational functions of the respective duties entrusted to him/her and vessel management of Bulk Carriers.
To ensure that the vessels that are under his/her responsibility (whether owned or managed) are gainfully employed at all times and that the returns on the company’s resources are maximized, given the market conditions.
Responsible for formulating annual business plan for the company including new vessels acquisition.
Responsible to undertake pre –deal commercial, operational & legal risk analysis.
To be responsible for continuously monitoring the developments in the shipping industry and taking advantage of attractive trading opportunities as they emerge.
To develop and maintain excellent working relationship with the market participants (brokers, owners, operators, shippers, receivers and freight traders) so that the company is strategically positioned to take advantage of opportunities as they emerge.
To ensure that negotiations leading to contracts are done in the best interests of the company and that the company’s risk exposure is minimized as much as possible.
To be responsible for the drawing up income budgets for the respective vessels under his/her care and ensure that the best efforts are expended in trying to achieve these budgets / Voyage Estimations.
Quarterly periodic performance reviews of vessels under his/her responsibility are to be conducted and revisions to the budget are made, where necessary, in consultation with the Director, Commercial Division.
To Liaise with Post Fixture staff to ensure all operational procedures are adhered to and all monies due from charters are obtained accurately, on a timely basis and assist in the recovery if necessary.
To ensure & supervise that all payments with regard to brokerage commission, charter hire for chartered in vessels, claims, etc are accurate and that they represent the minimum requirement for a amicable settlement
Requirements:
Qualified Chartered Accountant with excellent communication skills
Ability to manage international relatons
Must have a Business Development acumen
Should have an eye for details
Should have very good negotiation skills
Should be proactive & aggressive.
